Celebrating the Power of Collaboration and AAPIs in the Community Development Movement
Join us for an end-of-summer reception in Chicago, Illinois on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 6pm to 9pm at the Cambodian American Heritage Museum!
This end-of-summer reception, “Celebrating the Power of Collaboration and AAPIs in the Community Development Movement,” will bring together Chicago’s leading community development practitioners, leaders, and activists for a night of fun; entertainment; networking; and opportunities to learn about local best practices and innovative programs as well as connect to a growing national movement of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) in community development.
We invite you to join us at the beautiful Cambodian American Heritage Museum and Killing Fields Memorial, a unique cultural and educational institution in the heart of the Albany Park neighborhood located at:

The event will feature:
- Opportunities for housing, community and economic development advocates, practitioners, and allies to connect and expand their networks.
- Opportunities to meet leaders representing Asian American and Pacific Islander community development organizations from across the country and to learn about their successful programs and initiatives.
- Information about National CAPACD’s leadership and professional development initiatives as well as an overview of resources and assistance available for local nonprofits through our programs.
National CAPACD is an advocacy organization dedicated to addressing the community development needs of low income and underserved AAPIs. Our model is to invest in and support trusted community-based organizations with on-going training and technical assistance, leadership and professional development programs, public policy research and advocacy, and convening events that promote and engage AAPIs in the community development movement. We coordinate resources with public and private partners to assist local community based organizations across the country to address timely and critical issues in their local neighborhoods.
