Convention Overview

National CAPACD's annual convention provides a unique opportunity and platform for hundreds of community organizers, housing and economic development organizations and social service providers that assist Asian, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian and other minority and immigrant communities to gather and share ideas for comprehensive solutions to community empowerment and revitalization. This year's convention — Communities United: Our Passions, Our Strengths, Our Future — will be held in partnership with the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA), one of the largest national organizations serving Native Hawaiians.

The convention marks the first national gathering between two key organizations in the community development sphere bringing together Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders and Native Hawaiians. The Convention is a critical component of our efforts to expand our community outreach and to increase our connections with Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.

Our convention's co-host, CNHA, is a member based organization dedicated to capacity building and community development programming in Native communities in Hawaii and the Pacific. This partnership will provide an unprecedented opportunity to reach out to AAPI communities in new regions of the country. The convention will still have the major purpose of creating a space for our member organizations and allies, and retain a core focus on community development and housing. We look forward to featuring an exciting range of issues and reaching a broader audience than ever before!
