Applications Open: 2023 Community in the Capital Fellowship

Applications Open: 2023 Community in the Capital (CITC) Fellowship

National CAPACD is excited to announce the 2023 Community in the Capital (CITC) Fellowship!

CITC is a policy advocacy fellowship for staff at National CAPACD member organizations. Over five months (June-October 2023), CITC Fellows will learn about the federal government, AA and NHPI-specific public policy advocacy, how the federal government impacts their work at the local and state government levels, and how to identify needs in their communities and translate them into policy solutions. Fellows will advance National CAPACD’s 2023-2024 Policy Action Agenda, a product of the member-driven 2021-2024 Policy Platform, by meeting with policymakers in Washington, DC. Fellows will also develop leadership and communications skills and deepen their confidence as AA and NHPI social justice leaders.

CITC aims to increase the national presence and visibility of AA and NHPI community-based organizations and emerging leaders, and bridge the gap between local and federal policy advocacy. National CAPACD has trained nearly 150 leaders from across the country representing 50 different AA and NHPI community-based organizations over the past 14 years through CITC. We’re proud to see that CITC Alumni are becoming leaders in their respective fields, growing strong peer relationships, serving on National CAPACD’s Board of Directors, or becoming policymakers themselves.

We’ll be hosting virtual office hours to answer any questions that you might have about the fellowship or application process on April 25 at 3-4 p.m. ET. Please register to receive a Zoom link closer to the date.
