AAPI Owned Businesses are a Significant Part of the Economy of COVID-19 Hot Spots

There are over 1.3 million AAPI-Owned Businesses in the 30 metropolitan1 areas with the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, including

  • Over 1.3 million Asian American owned businesses;
  • Approximately 24,000 Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander owned businesses.

Business ownership data is from the 2012 Survey of Business Ownership (SBO).
