  • Protect and strengthen SBA, US Treasury, and other federal programs that provide capital for the development and growth of small businesses 
  • Increase stable funding for CDFIs, including technical assistance funding.
  • Support technical support programs like the Minority Small Business Development Agency (MBDA), the SBA Microloan Technical Assistance Program, and SBA Women’s Business Centers

Protect Immigrant-Owned Businesses from Displacement

  • Create a subsidized capital program that enables small businesses with community benefits to purchase property individually or through community ownership/cooperative models 
  • Support cultural districts as public goods
  • Preserve and promote culturally relevant legacy businesses that anchor communities

Ensure Language Access and Cultural Responsiveness

  • Resource and partner with CBOs serving LEP entrepreneurs
  • Require translation/interpretation for all federal small business programs
  • Proactively circulate translated materials
  • Evaluate the language access needs of LEP entrepreneurs

Rulemaking

Advance Fair Lending and Data Transparency

  • Preserve and implement regulations like Section 1071 of Dodd-Frank and SPD 15
    • Push for voluntary reporting by smaller lenders
  • Maintain a strong and independent CFPB and regulations that advance fair lending

Protect Immigrant Communities from Anti-Immigrant Policy

  • Oppose exclusionary rules requiring citizenship for programs and agencies like the SBA
  • Resist anti-immigrant executive orders, legislation, rulemakings, and directives that harm entrepreneurs
